Chocksett Hill Farms

The Sushchyk family farm has been owned and operated since 1919. Located in Sterling MA, we farm on 80 acres of fertile fine sandy loam. The very early years of the farm were spent clearing fields, picking rocks, building iconic New England stone walls and getting the fields in shape for growing. The farm has seen many different types of agriculture over the years from cows for milk, pigs, hay, and vegetables.

Today, the land is still managed by the family. Our head grower and co-owner Mike Sushchyk studied Sustainable Food & Farming at the Stockbridge School of Agriculture at UMass Amherst. After working in Whately MA for 3 years on a large organic vegetable and herb farm, Mike then worked in Sudbury MA at an organic growing 60 acres of crops a year for the greater Boston area. After 10 years in Sudbury, Mike came back to the family farm and began to form ideas for a new business on the family farm: Chocksett Hill Farms.

Chocksett Hill Farms is in it’s first year of operation and we are excited to tackle the new challenges and rewards that come with being a brand new business. So thank you for making your way here and taking the time to get to know us.

Mike has been growing Garlic in Sterling and Sudbury for the past 10 years. If you are curious about growing your own garlic from our seed stock and have questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out to Mike.
